How it is made
Exactly who does what.
Your book is made from three things: your answers, the sky on the day you were born, and a method written by Star. This page says plainly where software, AI, and people each come in.
Code does the math.
Your chart, your Human Design, your numerology, your hexagram, the ring, the marks pages, and the layout are all produced by software. No AI is involved in any of it. Planet positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open source library, and we check them against the Swiss Ephemeris. Place names and coordinates come from GeoNames, shared under CC BY 4.0.
Star wrote the rules.
Withinward is the work of Star, a healer and the founder of Hand to Heart Soulistic Wellness. The method she wrote sets what every book must do: say what is true in plain words before naming any system, build a chapter only where at least three independent layers agree, name where they disagree, and never give advice, predict your future, or diagnose you.
AI writes your personal sentences.
About ten times, once, when your book is made. It receives a chart sheet with your name, email, birth date, and birth city removed. Your Anchor is never read by AI. It is printed back to you by software, in your own words.
Where AI is used, it is Claude, made by Anthropic. Withinward uses no other AI provider.
Every book is checked before it reaches you.
Software compares what the book says with your chart. A second AI review pass compares the writing with Star's written rules and flags any line that breaks them. A section that fails is rewritten. If it still fails, it is replaced with a plain version built from your chart data.
No person reads your book as part of this. If a book still fails after being rewritten, we hold it and fix the fault. A person may look at that book for that purpose only, and we will tell you if it was yours.
An AI reviewer can share a writer's blind spots, which is why the facts are checked by software first, and why your margin marks matter. They tell us what no review can: whether it was true for you.
We chose to use much less AI.
Our earlier site wrote a reading for every member every day, using four AI calls each time. That came to about 1,460 calls per member per year. Your book uses about ten, once. Nothing runs on a schedule, and nothing is written for you that you did not order.
AI companies do not publish an energy figure per call, so we will not quote one. What we can tell you is what we did: far fewer calls, and none run in the background.
Our promise about your data
What we do with what you tell us.
- We ask for what your book needs and nothing else.
- AI never sees your name, email, birth date, or birth city. It never reads your Anchor.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
- Our AI provider says it generally deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, and may keep them longer if its safety systems flag them or the law requires it.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will do it within 30 days. We will also ask our print partner to delete your book file.
- If something goes wrong with your information, we will tell you promptly.
- What you write or draw by hand in a printed book never reaches us.
- Your digital marks stay on your device unless you choose to send them, with no name attached.
A chart sheet with identifiers removed is minimized, not anonymous. Exact degrees and a hexagram cast can still point to one person, so we handle it with the same care as everything else. The full wording is in the Privacy Policy.
Every book carries its own record
The last page tells you how it was made.
At the back of your book, a provenance page records the date, the version of the method, what software did, what AI did, and which checks it passed.
