We built Withinward because we believe personal insight belongs to the person, not to advertisers and not to data brokers. This policy says what we collect, why, who helps us, and what we will never do.
Withinward is a personalized book and reflection practice operated by Withinward LLC (DBA), based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. You can reach us at hello@withinward.co.
What you give us:
What we make for you: your finished book file and a record of your order.
What stays with you: anything you write or draw by hand in a printed book never reaches us. If a digital edition lets you write or draw, it stays on your device unless a feature clearly offers to save it to your account.
Technical data: our hosting provider keeps ordinary server records such as IP addresses. We do not use advertising trackers.
Payment details are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Your Sitting answers describe personal patterns, including emotional and relational ones. We treat them as sensitive. We collect them only with your consent, which you give when you begin the Sitting, and we use them only to write your book. You can withdraw consent and ask us to delete your data at any time.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers, and each receives only what it needs.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
We keep your Sitting, your book file, and your order record so that we can resend, reprint, and support you. We keep them until you ask us to delete them. Payment and tax records may be kept as the law requires.
When you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within 30 days and ask our print partner to delete your book file. A printed book that has already shipped is yours to keep.
The Sitting saves your progress in your browser's local storage on your device, so you can close the page and return. It stays there until you start a new Sitting or clear your browser's site data. We do not use advertising cookies or third party tracking pixels.
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your data, or to withdraw your consent, at any time. We extend these rights to everyone, wherever you live. Write to hello@withinward.co and we will confirm within 30 days. Minnesota residents also have rights under the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, including the right to appeal a decision we make about a request.
To correct your data, take the Sitting again or write to us.
The Anchor field checks for language that suggests a crisis. If it finds some, it shows crisis resources. It does not alert anyone, it does not flag you, and it does not stop you from continuing.
Withinward is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Orders must be placed by adults who are at least 18. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it promptly.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and limited access to your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a problem affects your information.
We will update this policy as Withinward grows. We will give clear notice of material changes, on this page with a new date or by email, and we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
